Join us in Costa Rica, home of La Pura Vida – The Good Life. Known for its wellness and yoga scene, as well as its tropical rain forest, animals, volcanoes and surf, it is a rich country full of biodiversity and has an environmental ethos too.
Costa Rica is a very special country that we are very excited to share with you. Although it is a small country it has a coastline on the Pacific and Caribbean and it is famous for its surf beaches. Most tourists spend their time on the coast although the volcanoes and tropical rainforests are a sight to see.
Nosara is the wellness capital of the country so those looking for yoga retreats in Costa Rica are in for a treat with regards to places to eat for alternative plant-based meals, the larger and more famous American retreat centres and the surf, of course!
There are 5 volcanoes in Costa Rica that you can visit if you plan on staying a little longer than our 10 day holiday as well as rainforests which are rich in biodiversity.
Costa Rica is famous also for its coffee and chocolate so there is the option of visiting these plantations too.
Costa Rica is categorised as one of the happiest places in the world to live, it has no army, the country generates more than 99% of its electricity through renewable energy and Nicoya is a blue zone, meaning that its inhabitants live active lives well over 100 years old.
With so many fascinating things to see and do we know this will be a holiday of a lifetime.
We recommend booking for longer and planning a tour so that you see as much of this special country as you can. If you choose to do this you might want to fly to Liberia with Tui that flies weekly so you can go for 2 weeks instead of 11 days.

"I've been on 2 very different retreats with AY and both were unforgettable experiences. I spent a long weekend in Cornwall and then ventured overseas to Costa Rica!! The AY team are incredible. What I love most is that you don't even realise they are working most of the time, they just feel like one of the gang! But they really look after you. The retreats are a perfect balance of yoga and fun adventure. The yoga is inspiring. The food... Well what can I say... Spectacular!!! Can't wait until my next trip" 🤸🏼♂️🧘🏼♂️

How long is the flight to Costa Rica?
Direct the flight is around 12 hours.
How far is the airport from the yoga holiday venue?
It is a 4 hour transfer
Do I need to bring a yoga mat?
No! The venue is kitted out with yoga mats, blocks, straps, bolsters so you don't need to bring anything.
What is the temperature like in March?
March is the end of the dry season in Costa Rica and it is a great time to be there after a long cold and dark winter in the UK and anywhere in the northern hemisphere. It is around 35 degrees celsius in the day and 30 at night.
What activities are on offer?
As the venue is right next to the beach you can enjoy the pacific ocean every day! Try surfing, we include 1 surf lesson and board hire in the price but if you get the buzz you can do it more. Extar activities that we highly recommend booking are the zipline excursion if you are an adrenalin junkie and the quad bike tour and coffee plantation tour are really fun. Be prepared to get caked in orange dust.
